Pinnacle May Not Come To AC After All

I found this out pretty early in the day, but I was busy talking about Cecil Fielder becoming to the new Atlantic City Surf manager to put up a post about this. However, it's 4:30 a.m. and sleeping is just overrated.

Pinnable may not be coming to Atlantic City after all. You can't drive anywhere in the area without seeing the silly billboards:

"You know what this town could use?"

Apparently, the answer is another empty lot. Pinnacle has pushed back the date of building the casino to sometime late next year. But .. and there is a but .. but, they could pull out of the deal altogether if the market doesn't improve.

"I've been asked by a number of people, 'How the hell are you going to build in Atlantic City?' The answer is, if the credit markets don't improve, we won't build," Pinnacle Chairman Dan Lee said during a conference call with gaming analysts to The Press of Atlantic City.

Awesome. So you buy a casino, take jobs away and then tear it down. Savvy business move on their part. I can't wait to see what else they have in store.

Too Busy to Play, Too Busy to Blog, Too Busy for Life

That's been me for the past month. I've been extremely busy with work and other things going on in my life, my blog had to take a little break. There has been news though, I just haven't had the time to bring it to you.

Let's see if I can fill you in quickly.

Revel has gotten final approval to go on with the project next to the Showboat. That should be exciting. I am looking forward to all of the new casinos coming about here in the next few years.

Borgata had to give money for the first time out of its own pocket for the Wednesday guaranteed tournaments. It was five people shy of the minimum they need not to pay out. The weather was awful that and it was midweek. Borgata paid up though. Good for them.

Harrah's BBJ is over $100,000 (last time I heard). I don't know if it's been hit in two days. All the talk I've heard about the type of people BBJs bring in, I didn't understand until now. I haven't played, but, gosh, the stories I've heard from dealers about the people they are dealing with is incredible. If I were playing on those games, there is a good shot I would have gotten kicked out.

That's all I got for now. Sorry, for the lack of updates. I'll try to get some more time in between those phone calls to update the blog.

If you've heard anything, let me know.
